Hi all,
Sorry if this sounds a dumb question, and I may just be having a blonde moment but Im stumped on working out how best to package two items Im selling on ebay. Ive only sold books/dvds or clothes before and they were pretty simple but these are different items.
Im selling two bath/body sets (unwanted christmas presents) and one is a cylinder shape and one is kinda rectangular.
This is the same as one of the items Im selling..

(Not my listing).
Can anyone tell me what packaging I should buy?
Thanks

I would bubble wrap it and then use a grey plastic mailing bag or brown paper (the bag would be easier!).0

I would bubble wrap and if you don't have a box large enough, with some voidfill (bits that fill out the gaps), then maybe cut down a large cardboard box and 'make it fit' the item.0

It's definitely going to need carboard around it, would a shoe box be large enough once the item's bubble wrapped? Hopefully you've allowed enough in your postage to cover the extra weight, something that I've forgotten about several times.0

as the others have said, bubble wrap, and box it. I make boxes from bigger boxes by cutting them down.
One day I might get a life :rotfl:
Only things I send in mailing bags/sacks are clothes.

Hi,
I would do also what the others have recommended, firstly buble wrapping the item, them I usually cut up a cornflake box or something similiar & make it cover the item, unless I had old padded envelopes that could be cut to fit.
Finally I would use a plastic mailing bag & tape it up to fit the shape, giviing it a wee bit more strength.

I think that you'll need something more substantial than a cornflake box, it could be in under 00's of other parcels. If they buy it to give as a gift the box will need to be intact and if the box is crushed the contents may be damaged as well.0

I would urge against a cornflake box. The box needs to be strong enough to protect the item inside from half a ton of other things being thrown on top of it in a cage at the sorting office. You need a rigid sided box and the card on cereal boxes is too flimsy.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I would firstly wrap the item with a generous amount of bubble wrap then package in a strong cardboard box thats big enough to accomodate the item, yet give it plenty of room around it (newspaper may need to be stuffed around it to prevent it moving around). The extra space gives it cushion in the event of a impact when thrown around at the depot.
Then, simply brown parcel tape the box up, reinforcing edges and corners if neccessary. Slightly OTT but better to package it properly and ensure it gets to its destination in perfect condition to avoid disputes.0 -

Just to add, if you don't have any newspaper use carrier bags. Just make sure they are clean and don't have any receipts in em, they work just as well and better to reuse em than bin em (straight away..)0
