Interesting thread
We do spend a lot at Christmas. We are going out for dinner this year and taking MIL which has cost £280 for 4 of us. Due to work commitments and hubby's 70+ hours a week we rarely go out as a family for dinner so it's a special treat for us and the one time this year MIL has been out. The way we see it is our parents (mine are no longer here nor is FIL) worked hard to bring us up and made us the people we are so we look out for MIL as we would have done if the others were still here too. Unfortunately MIL is far too proud to let us financially support her thoughout the year, so Christmas is the one time we can.
I think most people would be horrified at the overall amount we spend on MIL at Christmas but she's worth every single pennyNever look down on anyone unless you are bending to help them up.....0 -
