    Awful isn't it!

I would probably spend £90 on the shopping for Christmas but it normally lasts through till July with what we are still eating..i.e. pickles, chocolates etc.. I try and get it down by so much each year..originally started about 6 years ago with a bill of £200 :)

The lady who was making the homemade Christmas cards made me laugh...her efforts looked like ransom notes :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

We said the same, and that Baileys she made worked out dearer than the Aldi one at £3.99 which is lovely :D:D

Blimey she spends that much on food yet has a battered laptop held together with duct tape.. Priorities are wrong somewhere there..lol

True, BUT she did say at the beginning they worry about the bills in the post xmas period, so they are not well off, just obviously like christmas and she appeared not to realise how excessive she was :)

Alot of people around here do not have an aldi local :(

Saying that though, you can get 2 tins of carnation for £1 at the pound shop, cream isnt expensive if only buying a bit for a cup (maybe 80p) and the whiskey could then be used, more than once, either in more of the irish cream or in something else. So it could work out cheaper.

Home-made Baileys has a v short shelf-life so IMO it is preferable to make only small quantities.

Me too :rotfl: Although I think the affluent people in my area would too.. Our local Aldi is frequented by range rovers etc.. Definately not the riff raff that we used to get when it first opened.
