Yup,I mean how many people decant golden syrup out of the tin into a glass jar & how do you get the dregs out of the tin?...not to mention putting it in a jam jar would make it go off quicker (chrystalize)

if you buy value brand syrup it comes in a jar - it has never crystalised. If its in a tin then put tin in a pan of ht water and it has the same effect of softening it and making it easy to get the dregs out.

been trying to persuade hubby we should do a house swap for years but he won't- perhaps I should leave him in the house as caretaker/ handyman whilst I gad off on my jollys

I'm amazed at the lad doing a whole bag of potatoes. Three reasons:

    1. Use a potato peeler! Less skin and nutrients lost

    2. Use the peelings for a variety of things, such as veg stock.

    3. Pop an apple in the potato bag in the first place - keeps potatoes fresh for longer.

    Simples.
  • Martin could do a better job.

Although Mrs Moneypenny is convincing she lacks the street cred and people power that Martin has.

She is wearing some very expensive clothes, what looks like an Hermes scarf and Designer wear. She looks great but I get the feeling that she is in this business too late.

    Some excellent tips though.

  • Supported Housing and Council House Swaps anyone?

I hope people who don't own their own Property can do this and still keep head [legally] above water..

(Anyone visiting here would soon find out the facts of life here if they stayed here for any length of time).

What about the cost of petrol to get from London to Torquay?

Argh - whoever writes the titles can't spell accommodation!!!!! That really is a way of saving money.

The value stuff comes in a jar, not a tin. Certainly Mr T's does anyway.

As for crystallisation, the microwave tip should work for that, else standing it in warm water should work too. Same with honey.

On the other hand, I don't tend to worry if it goes a bit crunchy, its main use in our house is for baking twinks' hobnobs!

About Alvin Hall: at least he'd been there and done it himself. At one stage in his life he had 29 (!) credit cards and was (obviously) heavily in debt. Therefore he understands what the people are going through instead of being condescending towards them.

Let's have a petition to bring him back! I really like him.
