in Credit cards
Hi guy's I am new to this site.
Just a quick question regarding balance transfer cards...
I am a member of experian and have been for a while, my credit score is good, not far off excellent, I have tried to get a santander balance transfer card but got refused so I decided to try one more which was barclaycard which was also refused.
As above my experian credit score is good, are there any balance transfer cards which I would be likely to get? Even if it is not 0% but low interest instead?
I have a few missed payments in the last year which my partner opened store cards in my name and fell behind, she has a bad credit score but we are not married or linked on experian.
Thanks in advance, hope you can help! :T

'good' credit cards are normally only given to people with excellent credit records
credit 'scores' are pretty meaningless
cards in your name are your sole responsibility: not exercising that respnsibility sadly shows you are not very good with money
also you haven't mentioned what other credit you have or your earnings or whether you are on the electoral roll.. all factors that are taken into account by potential lenders.0 -

I am not the one saying I have a good credit rating, it is experian who class me as "good" and not far off "excellent" and would expect most lenders to provide me with credit.
I am on electoral roll at my address, I dont have high outstanding credit excluding mortgages, if it was high then it would reflect on my credit score and it would more likely give me a "poor" rating.
I think my mate got accepted for barclaycard, Im sure he didnt even ask for payslips etc, maybe I should of bumped my salary up a bit more!
All accounts are up to date, there is no problem with affordability I was purely looking to round small debts into one smaller payment.
I will look into Vanquis and cap 1 classic then see if I have any luck with any of these.0 -
... ah just looked into these rates are higher than current debts!

Well if you can't get the decent cards mate your gonna have to start from the bottom.. and work your way up.
A few missed payments within a year makes you unreliable - thats how lenders will see you.The only real security that a man can have in this world is a reserve of knowledge, experience and ability.0 -

Yeah honestly mate everyone seems to be falling for Experians credit score system, people who are bankrupt and have CCj's get Excellent credit scores off these money launderers.
Try the sub-prime route>0 -
Could be worth having a look at the creation card - pitched inbetween Capital one / vanquis and "proper" cards as far as I can tell.
Have had mine for about 2 months now, initial limit of £3k and 0% BT option too. APR 19.9% from memory. I have a far from perfect history, with some 5 year old (but satisfied) defaults. I do have a cap 1 card with about 2 years history of paying in full or nearly in full every month along with mobile contracts etc though which may make a difference.0 -

Yeah the creation is not a bad card by all means.0
