Upgrade early?

Vodafone unlock their upgrades service 70 days before end of term, so it may be similar with O2, or it may be 30 days (or even none - but i doubt it as they would rather lock you in again than risk you going onto a rolling contract)Signaller, author, father, carer.0

I ran O2 on Monday about upgrading early, my contract runs out 28 June but you can upgrade 30 days early depending on which tier you are on. I am blue tier as I am only on £15 a month contract but if you spend more you may be on a higher tier so can therefore upgrade earlier. O2 will only let you upgrade early if you want to get an Iphone and you have to buy yourself out the remainder of your contract. I would of had to pay about £160 to get an Iphone 3GS and buy myself out. I have decided to wait as they dont have the phone I want so would be better going through carphone warehouse who do have the phone. Hope that helps a bit!0

ok, cool - thanks!0

The earlier you upgrade the worse the deal will be. The best time is when you're out of your minimum term.
And if you do jump early, most network add the remaining time to the end of the new contract.0 -
It doesn't matter when you upgrade on o2, upgrading customers get the same as new customers.
Officially if you are a Blue tier or Silver Tier u can upgrade 30 days early, Gold 3Months & Platinum 6 Months.
You change your tariff to whatever handset price u want
And your remaining time is NOT added on at end of term0
