Parking Charge Notice (Cornwall)

Hi

Had a day of work in Cornish town and for the first two hours I parked in a council run car park, and then moved my car to a different car park closer to where I was in a meeting for work. I put 2 hours on the car and thought that would suffice.

As (un)luck would have it, the meeting over ran by at least 30 minutes and the 2 hours I'd put on the car had expired. There was no way I could leave that meeting without serious impact to my work, and was 20 minutes late getting back to my car to find a ticket had been issued by A S Parking of St Columb, this being a privately run car park, not council.

The Parking Charge Notice requests £95, reduced to £65 if paid within 7 days.

What is my best course of action? Appeal? Ignore? Pay up?

Ignore. Simple as that. On no account appeal. All that does is provide them with the information regarding the driver. Without that they can't go any further with the claim.

I think the best course of action is to take the hit and pay up the £65. I know how you feel mate, but unfortunetely it wasn't like it's five minutes - whereby there could have potentially been a small discrepency in your time and the warden's time.

Noooooooo. That's very wrong. If it was as you say a private car park, ignore, ignore and ignore again.

Ah Cornwall.....it's different to the rest of the UK that's why none of the stickys or hundreds of other identical queries/posts apply.

The invoice is not enforceable so ignore them completely , don't communicate with them at all, and appeals are all turned down as they are done in house.
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

A load of rubbish. This is a private parking ticket and the driver is under no obligation to pay. As for calling the person issuing the "ticket" a "warden", that's wrong as well. All they are is an employee of a private company.
