Advice Please on PAC
Hi,
I have, at the moment, a cashback deal with e2save which comes to an end on 10/01/07. The provider is Vodafone. I feel sure I will then be looking to take out another cashback contract only this time with O2 through mobileshop.com.
I would like to take my present number with me to O2.Mobileshop.com inform me that they charge £10 for the service, which I'm not too bothered about. I know that I've got to request a PAC from vodafone in advance of termination. I've also got to give vodafone a month's notice to end my current contract. Some where I read that when you do give in your notice, you should not ask for the contract to be terminated as it can affect you porting your number. How do I word my notice and when do I request a PAC?

basically the way i understand it when the number ports/the network are aware your porting your number like youve started the process
youve terminated your contract
3 said to me if you dont use your pac then your contract will carry on and you have to request to terminateYes Your Dukeiness0 -
Once you have your PAC and port your number successfully then the contract will terminate. However, if you do this before 10/01/07 you will be charged up til that point.
Requesting your PAC starts your notice period. I would request the PAC on 10/12/06 and then get the new contract as soon after 1/1/07 as possible. The PAC is only valid for 30 days so it may be worth doing it earlier but whatever happens you will pay up to 10/1/07 if you ask for your PAC on 10/12/060 -
DO NOT give notice to terminate. Requesting PAC is sufficient
If you do give notice to terminate the number will be disconnected and then can not be ported0
