Hi all just looking for a bit of advice
I think its time to upgrade my beloved *sob* N95 which I have had since the day of release 4 whole years ago!!!
I'm currently on some kind of Flext contract which expired a few days ago - £140 worth of calls txts and photo messages for the princely sum of £15 - I've done the bill monitor thingy and lloks like i'd be looking at 600 mins and 300 txts - also data which i dont currently have (but am sure will become a thief of my time with a new phone)
Am interest in HTC Desire, HD (altho some friends say its too big for lady hands, but would prefer the better cam) or incredible
The plain desire is £60 as upgrade on my current contract, would presumably then add +£5 for data making £20 a month - is this about as good as i can get?
I REALLY need to keep my number, and would prefer to stay with t-mobile as have fund their customer service to be excellent, if i want to keep the number do i have to take what i'm given as won't be porting?
Thanks for your patience in staying with me this far - as you can see from my current phone am rarely up to date with phones - was desperate for the N8 to be fab but it would appear not

HTC Desire HD is a big phone. I know a couple of people who have rejected it because of its size.
Does 600 mins and 300 texts cover what you need?
How much data do you think you would need?
Do you really need a smart phone?
I am impressed you stuck the N95 for so long.
I had to get rid of mine after 3 months - worst phone I have ever owned.0 -
hehehe i LOVE my N95, especially the camera - bt am beyond retro with it now, lol
My usage would indicate that 600 mins and 300 txts would be about right, never used data before but would imagine 500mb should be enough for my needs - just pondering staying on my tarriff and just having a £5 tinternet add on making £20 as above if i can get a decent upgrade from T-mob...0 -
I LOVED my N95 (Best phone Nokia ever made!!) I got mine just after it was released.
I went for the Desire HD for my upgrade (it's not big in my opinion but that's just me!)
Got a good cashback (£85) on my n96 (paid for the first few months of my HD's contract... ^_^ but had to but a new battery cover (£3 on ebay!) that was the only problem with my N95!
You'll probably not go over 500Mb a month if you're a normal user (you'll use Wi-Fi most of the time.)Laters

Ive been looking at HTC phones recently and the 2 youve mentioned (HD and Incredible) are quite big. From what Ive read the battery life isn't great on the normal Desire or the HD version... anyone care to comment? I dont mind if its good to last a day as I was used to that when I had an iPhone but I want it to reach a whole day most of the time at least as a medium user ie after fair bit of of use via surfing
If youre not sure about size pop into a store and get a feel for them. I personally might wait for the new Desire which is coming out next month.
With regard to your upgrade I would play hardball and see if their willing to throw the phone in for free rather than paying for it. From what Ive seen £25 seems to be amount you need to pay if you want the phone for free but i might be wrong. Nevertheless no harm in asking or seeing if anyone else is doing it for £20 a month to use as a bargaining tool.0
