ebay or paypal?

You sound like a great eBayer, annie-c!
One of the things that really bugs me on eBay is sellers saying that they will only refund the price but not the original p&p
Or that they will refund less a 'handling charge'
Or they don't 'do' refunds!
When I started eBay I thought I'd try never to give a negative, but I've failed, twice, and both times it was for sellers trying to withhold the full refund that I was entitled to. The cases sorted them out good and proper!
Better calm down again now...0 -
i did contact them and they agreed a refund if i sent it back but only the cost of the item. i said you will need to do both p and p and item(the p/p i paid first time, not the return) she then asked for a photo where i circle where the damage, she now as apprently been told by ebay that they cant see damage and she is right(!!!!!!?) .. so i will scale to a claim
ill add i didnt send any pics taken by my self -she asked for me to sent her pics with the damaged areas circled.how can ebay say shes right0 -
She's pulling a fast one. I'd stick in a paypal claim.0

She is not right. The pictures were sent as a courtesy by you, you were not obliged to. Now she's faffing and giving you incorrect info about refunds, it's time to open your case. eBay will not agree with her. If the item is damaged you must get your full refund.
You sound a little worried. Don't worry. The case will take care of it for you.
Just go through the steps as directed and you'll get your refund.
If you feel the item is unsuitable to be sent through the post, contact eBay Customer Support AND don't forget to mention that in your 'reply' in the case.0 -
Hi
The seller has now escalted the claim -what dose this mean. I know i will have to send the items back but apprently recorded isnt any good- so what do i do, its cost about 7.89 all together and i will loose money posting back.0 -

Are you able to send the items back? Why is recorded no good? In a case you are required to send the item back by tracked means to get a full refund (cost & original p&p)
The only way to get your full refund is by returning the item by tracked post, or if the item is too damaged to be send , telling eBay that.0 -
I dont mind sending back but a few people have said on here royal mail dont always ask for signatures so if i dont get a signature will they dismiss my claim?0

But this happens only very rarely. The majority of deliveries are fine.
It's in your own interests to send the item recorded, because you can track it on the Royal Mail website on track & trace.
If you seller signs for the item then you'll be able to see that.
They will not dismiss your claim if you use tracked postage because even if they don't sign it, or refuse to sign it, your package can be traced.
But you have no chance of getting your money back if you don't send it.0 -
When the item is sent by Recorded Delivery the postie is supposed to get a signature. If the person is out then the postie is supposed to leave a card letting you know he attempted delivery Sometimes the postie forgets to leave a card, so the person does not know a delivery was attempted and that it's gone back to the depot or sorting office, where it can be picked up.
But this happens only very rarely. The majority of deliveries are fine.

I disagree that it is rare not to get a signature, in some areas, lik emine, nothing is ever signed for.
It is also no easier to get a refund for loss on a recorded item, in fact it can be more difficult as RM can often see it has been delivered but yet refuse to update the tracking. At which point they give you your 74p back and tell you to run along.
