I'm not trolling, I agree with you that we should raise minimum wages, but without numbers all you have is an unsupported claim that doesn't help or inform anyone.

Well I agree the min wage should go up :j

People are too quick to judge someone elses opinions and rather reading between the lines! Don't worry B Blank I think we've all thought about quitting our job at one stage and turning to benefits but its the joy of a job and because we actually have something to wake up to that keeps us going! :-)

It's a good way to avoid any discussion, or to have to back up and wild claim with solid facts.

Very amusing though :D, start a thread, make some wild and unsubstantiated claims, and call anyone who disagrees a troll.

If your posting things like this maybe you dont enjoy your job? I think its all about self confidence and how you feel at the end of a hard working day. Nothing beats the feeling like you've achieved something, rather then claiming benefits because you can, not because you have no other choice.

Sadly a whole generation of people feel this way and have grown up spoon fed a diet of ever increasing handouts. Breeding that sort of sentiment over a long period creates a whole class of people who have pretty much no financial incentive to get out and work for a living.
If your parents have never worked and most of your famuily or friends don't work, unless you have a pretty strong core of self motivation how on earth can that cycle be ended without putting them all through a world of pain by reducing the handouts?

Seriously, why would anyone work in an average £15k a year job 15 miles from them home? It will cost them a fortune to get there and they wont get any wage increase. Whereas if you go on benefits you can just sit in your house (not waste money on petrol) and get access to a benefits system protected from inflation.

deferred gratification. it's what seperates the winners from the losers long term.

benefits are instant gratification but you get no promotion and rely on future incumbant governments to continue with giving you the benefit. they have every chance of not doing so. you are living at the whim of party politics and the electorate.

if you work you are likely to be promoted / get a pay increase (maybe less so in recession but recessions don't last forever).

people who work are likely to be in a better position over time than people who spend their life on longterm benefits. this is fact.

taking a snapshot does not show the whole picture.

I dont hate poor people, the poorest people in the country are the ones with low paid jobs. FACT. They dont qualify for benefits, and they are forced to pay stupid rents on run down shoeboxs whilst those who dont work are in 4 bed houses. They are forced to pay thousands every year just to get to their underpaid job.

I notice it is a FACT, not a fact. What does that remind me of?
