I suppose I should be grateful that they don't try and injure me with sticks and stones, lol0

Jimmy caught a mouse today as well, OH locked him outside so he was throwing it around in the garden.0

Our cat semi feral she usually just eat them hole. Nothing left occasional one get free though and can be !!!!!! to catch. I usually get the cat to help. I don't feel particular bad about letting her kill mouse it's birds that bother me but she only usually gets the common ones.0

Your cats are called Moss and Roy?
I love you.0 -
My 2 usually bring me dead ones. They do sometimes bring live prey, but always fatally injured, so I tend to just put them both outside (cat and prey), and give the cat a talking to about how he should just finish the poor little thing off quickly! I'm not sure he listens mind, and I'm sure it would be kinder for injured mice etc to have their neck broken, but I just can't do it! I've tried before, and failed, which is enough to put me off trying again!I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Hi we used to have a cat that brought in crisp bags and nothing else. Our other cats bring in mice, rats and birds. I tried to get a rat off one of them once and ended up in the medicle walk in center with a nasty bite on my finger.0

Gizmo loves playing with what he brings in.
I am sure i have said this before, but giz is either confused about what gifts to bring in, or has a romantic side.
Half a ham roll
prawn cracker
chicken head (nothing unusual about that) well OH looking around his house for the rest of the body and then checked the oven..... /facepalm
I've saved quite a few, mice and baby birds, might have to change tacktics this year if giz has cottoned on, i usually wave a pack of his food in front of him, then as soon as he drops i place packed in front of it and scoop up with the other hand, whilst trying to distract giz with the cat food packet, check if small animal is ok, place in quiet box for a bit if needs time to recover, or let loose elsewhere in the garden when giz is looking around him for his prize.
Although the slowworms are out now, i think it will be the season of tails being bought in, those get me as they still wiggle (ugh)0 -
I see a couple of you have guessed the origin of the names, well if you look in the lost pet thread, you will see a pic of Roy when he went missing for a few days.
I don't think I could have coped with a rat!
Mupette at least you have tactics!, I'd accept a prawn cracker and ham roll. You can leave the chicken head though, lol. Did you do something to annoy him that day?0 -
aww bless, shame about the ending though! Did you name the rat?
Oh Pigpen, don't think I could cope with squirrels either, they look far too cute.
We shouldn't release vermin back out though should we really? But I can't kill it or watch my cat kill it, as Moss really does like to play with his prey. Spiders are practically tortured! Roy just tends to kill them outright though.0 -
It may not be the cat bringing you a present.
If the cat brings home an item, and plays and then eats it itself, it probably just wanted some privacy.
However, if it brings, and "presents" said presents to you (leaving it on your bed for you etc), it could easily be trying to teach you to be a better hunter. Figuring that you need to get some practice in. Be proud that your cat thinks you're upto live prey (and those of you still recieving rocks and leaves, be ashamed).
Nice little alternate view there. I would guess, offsettable by giving the cat some of your freshly roasted chicken, and convincing Mittens that you eat quite well without her help, thank you very much.0
