credit card fraud

Well have you used all 3 cards at the same cash line recently ? Have you used all 3 cards on the same online shop recently ? if they where cloned at a cash line then the fraudsters would have withdrawn money rather than spend it on xbox live - if they where skimmed online they would make internet purchases, to me it's either someone at home or all cards where skimmed online !
Don't forget that if you used these cards all on a single home computer that could have key-loggers/trojans on it then that may be another way fraudsters got your card details..The only real security that a man can have in this world is a reserve of knowledge, experience and ability.0 -
one card has not been used for well over 12 months and what does 'skimmed online' mean.0

Well to be honest it does not matter when the card was skimmed it will be used once they get round to using it - by skimmed i mean, in my experience dealing with hacked sites/servers for years, on most online stores the software they use will encrypt your cc details in there database, but 1 way of defeating that would be to insert malicious skimming code into the form you fill in your details to make the purchase so that the details are caught before they are encrypted, usually the code will either send the card details to a remote server an email address or save them to a file in plain readable text...
If you make purchases over the phone with your card people can also skim them by writing them down.. you know what i mean now ?
Always use a pre paid card mate and never use main cards online - if you do they will most likely empty what you have.. until you or the bank catch on - verified by visa and mastercard securecode are not fool proof as most of the time all you need is a dob to pass them and there's plenty places to get them. The only real security that a man can have in this world is a reserve of knowledge, experience and ability.0 -
Thank you for the advice but what is a pre paid card:question:0

A card you top up when you want to use it - it does not have any credit and they don't do credit searches to get them, i suggest them because you can top them up with just the amount you need to use and no more, even if the card was caught by fraudsters when they try to use it it wont work since it won't have any cash in it for them to use - they will class it as a dead card and won't use it again.
Virgin and o2 do them and quite a few other places - google "pre paid cards" and you will find quite a few.
