Not strictly speaking a spelling mistake but I hate the people who end every sentence with a couple of kisses instead of a full stop.

    What's that all about then?

There is a classic mistake in the on-line version of today's Daily Mail concerning a council that's asking chip-shops (for health reasons) not to have salt-shakers on display:-

The town that's banned salt: Shakers taken off chip-shop counters and put out of site

That "journalist" should be ashamed of themselves.

Don't they have proof readers any more?

l am not suprised when people make spelling mistakes. My daughter was given a letter from the N. U .T with at least five spelling mistakes. l asked her if it was a scam or wind up. She told me it was given to her by a teacher standing at the school gates. Also l have been told that teachers do not always correct spelling mistakes in essays etc they are more concerned with the content.

I had a temp in once, to whom I dictated a letter. I can't remember the exact contents of the letter, but when she presented it to me for signing, I noticed she had written, "...to the best of our noledge (sic)...." I pointed out that she had misspelled "knowledge," but she laughed and said "don't be silly, because then it will say 'k-now-ledge." :D

should of and would of really annoy me too. As does the mixing up of their, there and they're.

There is a shop not far from where I live and on the sign outside it says "convience store".

Their shed bee know excise fur bed sparling in forearms.

Especially when popular web browsers like Firefox, Chrome and Safari have built-in "spell check as you type".

Unless you use Internet Explorer - then you have an excuse :)
