Recent EDF bill anyone

I've just got my latest online gas bill and unless I'm missing something I can't see the standing charge from 2nd March. Hoping that the paper one will be clearer. They have applied the change in price proportionately but it's not very clear which usage applies to which dates without getting a calculator out. The standing charge should be about £4 for the period. Could someone have a quick look at theirs please?

  • Another example of EDF's shoddy attempt at a website.

If you haven't resorted to it already, bondy, I've had the calculator out and can confirm that the standing charge is in the calculations but not shown on the online bill. Though you obviously shouldn't have to resort to finding this, google should find the links to all relevant charges for each tariff online - for example, Version 8:

I've raised this with them before, but as you suggest, the paper version has always arrived shortly after and the standing charges have always been clearly stated, so I let it drop. Unfortunately, I fear paperless billing might have kicked in for me, so I'll need to argue the point in future. If they want to do away with sending paper bills, the online version has to be a true copy and not some half-complete attempt.
  • Hi

I just got my paper bill and they broke it all down for me. It was the same as the on-line version so I wouldn't be too concerned.

However, my bill was massively underestimated so I called up and gave them the actual readings.

When the re-issued bills came, they charged me for it all at the new rate.

I called them up and they amended it to a pro rated split between the old and new prices with no questions, in fact it was so casual that I suspect it is the company policy to bill this way. That way most people pay too much and only those of us who call up get charged the correct pro-rated amount!
