I have a Visa Electron card - left over from the days when Ryanair used it as their 'free' card - but can't see this mentioned in Travel Republic T and Cs? According to FAQs, you're chrged whether you use debit or credit card. Can you point me to the area where it says Visa Electron is fee-free?

Just checked the travelrepublic website and tried a booking through to the payment page and Visa Electron is at the bottom of the list of cards to select.
There was no charge for Electron, Solo or Connect cards only for Amex, Mastercard credit and debit, Maestro / Switch, Visa credit and debit / delta
I've copied the signs of the cards accepted from the site but don't know if they will show in the post.

  • You can save the fee by buying ryanair vouchers and using those.

However vouchers are only available in demoninations of £20 and you lose anything you don't use so it depends on the price of the flights if it's worth it

Hi, just a bit of a warning on this one. we regularly fly ryan air and regularly use travelrepublic for accomodation so i am a bit of a fan of both. After seeing this I decided to book our flight along with our hotel through travel republic for a weekend in Dublin to avoid the charges. Just wanted to warn people though. After booking it I got an email the following day to say that whilst the hotel was booked they had been unable to book the flight due to a price increase during the booking process. By the following day the price had hiked considerably so I would have been much better off if I initially went direct through Ryanair grrrrr. One of those things I guess but just wanted to prewarn people about this.

You have to be careful about them re-weighing/assessing your hand luggage at the gate also, they like to fine you with that also !

yeah i must say last week going from Liverpool to Dublin they were making everyone slide their case into the cage, i have never seen them doing that before, usually its just straight through and lots of people having to take clothes out of their bags and put them on. I guess its just pot luck. Just make sure you dont go over the size/weight restrictions and you'll be fine :-)
  • on travel republic website for ryanair flights where do you add in priority boarding or can you not?

Just to say, I booked flights via travelrepublic for Ryanair (before i read all the stuff about it being via a third party...) I then panicked and worried that the booking would be cancelled after reading threads like this.
    Our flights were Stansted-Girona return
    And Bristol -Girona return.
Flights were absolutely fine. And in answer to the above question, you can log into Ryanair and add priority boarding after it has been booked. The only thing you cant do is add special assistance if you have a disabled member of your party.
Also for anyone reading who's interested (I searched high and low!) 5 of our 6 children took Trunki's... They fitted in the cages and were accepted just fine.
:starmod: I am not that savage :heartpuls But I am a Vixen :staradmin
