Well spotted soulsaver, the old transposition of figures syndrome strikes again. £38,400 was the correct answer.
A special mention must also go to YorkshireBoy who queried, "And what about 1999/2000 and 2000/2001? " The max'm amount then was £3k p.a. giving a grand total of £44,400.
In 2001, my then ageing I.B.M. machine went t1ts up and this was in the days went the word backup only meant that I was annoyed with somebody and didn't mean anything to me in a computer orientated way. Consequently I lost all my archives (hence the missing 2 years.)
Apologies for an confusion caused.
Any advance on £444,00 ?0 -
I have £47,182 in my Cash ISAs at the moment, which includes all the interest that's been paid over the years. I'd have to trawl back through my records to see if I used my full allowance every year but I suspect not as I seem to remember having a TOISA at some point which I think could be opened in addition to the normal allowance.0

TESSA s had a limit of £9k which was spread over a few years, I can't remember exactly how many but 3 or 4 or was it 5 ?
I make it £39,300 (unless you were over 50 for 2009/10 in which case it would be £40,800)
9 years @3k =£27k
2 years @3.6K = £7.2k
1 year @5.1k0 -
For my sins, I was exceeding the [STRIKE]speed[/STRIKE] age limit in the 2009/10. I had forgotten all about that "concession".0

Thanks for all the answers, I am only talking about cash ISA's and I am over 50, so is everybody agreeing its £44,400?
There must be an exact figure.......my brains hurting!0 -

I think 'the seer' has got the right figure with £40,800 if you were over 50 last year......glad we got it sorted!:j0

Almost sorted... I make it £49,800 (the £40,800 is correct for ISAs, plus £9,000 for TESSA). I'm an 'oldie' though...0
