Just wanted to clarify about returning it tracked:
If a buyer wishes to return an item then they must send it tracked, or an unscrupulous seller can claim that they never got it back and so paypal/ebay will not make them refund. Proof of postage may help them claim for a lost item through Royal Mail, but it must be tracked to win a paypal/ebay dispute as you need to enter the tracking details to prove the seller has received it back. The risk is admittedly small as I like to think that most ebay sellers are honest and would send the refund regardless once they got the item back, but better to be safe than sorry! (Obviously for a low cost item you might decide it is worth the risk rather than paying the extra for tracking).
As per Bigredant, the buyer only needs to protection of tracked delivery if they have a potentially dodgy seller, I see no indication here that we need to have any worries at all about the seller as that is the OP.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Yes I completely agree, just wanted to make it clear for others reading this thread why it is always recommended for the buyer to return things tracked - didn't mean to imply there was anything dodgy about the OP

buyer has left positive feedback after that!
