Hi all

I have been charged £15 for 52 minute call to number 2662, which it turns out is clubline for Reading FC? Now, annoyingly I never knew this call was being made. It seems it must have happened from my phone whilst in my pocket or something... I'm guessing there's not a lot I can do to get this writen off my bill but was looking for opinions on this. Also, i have an HTC Desire - is there any way I can lock/block my phone from making calls? Any help greatly appreciated.

Enable screen lock? (Settings >> Security)

Very difficult for a capacitive screen phone to make pocket calls. You have to unlock the screen with the power button, then (using a body part) do the unlock slide motion, tap the dialler, then tap the buttons.

Are you sure someone didn't use your phone to make the call?

Pretty sure no-one else used it. Also, i don't know any reading fans who would be on the clubline for 52 mins! I've noticed there were a couple of other calls to this number for much shorter periods on the same day though. so, beyond the screen lock - which I think it does automaticaaly there's nothing further I can do to prevent this happening again?

It does, but you can change the time delay.

Unless it is set to 'immediately', lock it manually by pressing the power button.

Screen lock with an unlock pattern? If you had an unlock pattern it would be almost impossible for your phone to become unlocked in your pocket.
I have the Desire, the only time I've accidentally called somebody is when I've been putting my phone down and I've dialled a recent number. You should also be able to request a premium number bar on your account.
  • Get the call confirm app from the android market.
You have to press confirm to call,it's free and I wouldn't be without it as I also had a problem with dialing in my pocket ect.
