Wessex water saying they have not received payment!

Hi forum,
In need of some advice and help! I paid wessex water on the 5th of November through they're automated payment line with my credit card.
Now 5 months down the line they are saying that they have not received payment even though it shows on my credit card statement WESSEX WATER GB and the amount paid?
If anyone of you unlucky souls also deal with this company could you please confirm that it says WESSEX WATER GB on your statement as they are saying that it should say WESSEX WATER BILLING SERVICES.
I am really stuck! What should I do next? Wessex Water also wanted me to find out which account the credit card company paid into, but because the payment is over 180 days old the credit card company isn't obliged to provide this information.
I appreciate any help with regards to this.:A

If you make a payment by credit card and a company says that you haven't, contact your CC company and tell them that a payment you have made did not make it's way to the intended payment area and ask them to investigate this further on your behalf.
I think you would be covered by the credit card insurance for payments scheme?
If it was me I'd get straight onto the CC and play merry hell till it was sorted 1 way or the other.
If you have proof of payment on your statement send a photocopy to your water provider (don't forget to delete other stuff off photocopy).
If not you can ask your CC company to provide duplicate statements but this might cost you but if you have paid it you can ask as a goodwill gesture for the water company to reimburse you for this and ask for a little bit of discount as well....

The CC Company will not investigate further as it has been more than 180 days and I have already sent a copy of my CC statement to Wessex Water, but still no joy...I'm at my wits end!0
