Newspaper competitions are fake?

Well you won something then! The odds of winning a good competition where the prize is over £10k must be at least 100,000 / 1. Therefore you can enter as many competitions as you like but still the odds of you winning are minimal. I believe there is a competition board on this forum where people have reported winning big prizes.
As with all things its just sour grapes. Its the "I've not won so it must be fixed mentality". If it was fixed then everyone would know about it as they can't keep any scandal quiet these days. It would be worse than the ITV phone in scandal where people were being charged after the competition had closed. If it was proved that these competitions were fixed then there would be all sorts of complaints!
Not quite. If it's known that the competitions are fake, who are the ones who write about scandals? Of course, the very same people. Why would the papers want to report on a scandal that they are doing?0 -
My friend won a £26000 car in a magazine. She used to make a living entering competitions with at least one major win per year to cover her living expenses.
If I won a car, I'd either hand it over to my parents, or sell it as I can no longer drive due to medical reasons. However, I ain't lucky enough to win anything, even if a competition was rigged so that I would win.0 -

So by your logic we should never have heard about the BBC scandel over competitions a couple of years ago?The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!
If I give you advice it is only a view and always always take professional advice before acting!!!

The newspaper bingo certainly used to be rigged.
There were around half a dozen numbers that were taken out from the drawable balls, and one of these half a dozen numbers was printed on 99% of the cards - so these cards had no way of winning.
I recall once the Sun accidentally printed the wrong number which happened to be one of these withdrawn numbers, with over 3000 winners as a consequence.0 -
a few years ago, if you bought any of their gasoline flavored fast-food muck, then you got a Monopoly Title Deed Card.
Question:
Did anyone you know win a big prize on this?
Answer
Not unless you know the man who was responsible for the "delivery" of the winning cards to the gasoline flavored fast-food outlets. Only his close family, friends and milkman ever won these prizes.
I got a free portion of gasoline flavored "fries". Allegedly, this is now a real lottery, but you still have to purchase gasoline flavored fast-food.....I am a cow so cannot speak Bullshine but I do recognise its smell when I come upon it.0 -
Could you use the words, 'gasoline flavored fast-food', a few more times please. I don't think I've quite got it yet....

I know a couple of people who've won brilliant prizes in competitions. The best i've won was a £130 pair of Ray ban sunglasses from a magazine. By far the best prize I personally know someone win was a brand new Ferrari about 5 years back. The saying money comes to money seemed to be the case with this as well as he had enough money to buy a fleet of his own Ferrari'sIf At First You Don't Succeed, Call It Version 1.00

I work for a publishing company that has competitions in all the magazines and I know for a fact the competitions are real as I have drawn the winner quite a few times and called them to let them know they have won.
Out of everyone I have called only one person was really excited. The last prize winner I called actually sounded annoyed. I asked him if he wanted the prize as he didn't sound happy.
To be fair before I worked here I also used to think competitions were faked!0
