I've been having issues with Vodafone regarding a new contract, and wondered if anyone here can offer any advice?
My 12 month SIM contract expired on Saturday, and after contacting Vodafone via Twitter I was called by a representative called Anthony to see what sort of deal he could offer me. I've had no issues with Vodafone up until this point, so was glad to stay on as a customer. I was offered a "free" Desire HD on a 24 month contract with less minutes (which is fine as I don't use the phone predominantly for calls anyway), unlimited texts and unlimited broadband. However, I logged into my account yesterday and noticed that I have 300 minutes (correct), unlimited texts (correct) and 250MB data.....er, excuse me?
I'm bitterly disappointed with Vodafone and it's clear I've been missold a new contract. I've complained via Twitter and email and I'm still awaiting a response, and I've been informed via Twitter that I'll be called this afternoon to resolve this situation. I was explicitly told I would receive unlimited broadband (which I appreciate isn't actually "unlimited", but that's not the issue here) as I specified that I primarily use the phone for browsing the Internet. If it was made clear to me that I'd only receive 250MB, I would never have agreed to the contract.
If this issue isn't resolved asap then I'll happily move to a competitor, as I'd love to keep the Desire HD. As it is, I'm extremely disappointed.

Is this a misunderstanding about terminology, they've offered unlimited broadband as part of the package and you've confused broadband with mobile data?0

Nope. I previously had unlimited data / broadband / whatever you want to call it on my phone contract, and now I'm capped at 250MB. What I was offered and what I have are two completely separate things.0

I spoke to a Vodafone CSA about a 6 weeks ago when I was close to my data cap (500Mb). All I wanted to know was how close I was but he did give me a bit of advice. When I come to upgrade (I was eligable from the start of March) do it by phone and ask if they are still able to up the dta allowance to 1Gb.
Apparently there is currently a lot of discretion to do this for free because of the increased use of data in Smartphones.
Might help no-one now, but it is always worth a quiet friendly try.Signaller, author, father, carer.0 -
