Centerparcs alternative

It's my 40th birthday in December and would like to treat our family (me, DH, 3 kids - 9,8,3) to a weekend away.
Centerparcs would be ideal - plenty to do if weather bad, we love biking, swimming etc.
BUT I'm thinking that for £500 a weekend in Dec, there must be some alternatives.
We're in Northampton - radius of about 1 1/2 hours travelling.
Got to be all-weather options - happy to self-cater.

Hi,
We always go to Manor House Hotel in Okehampton at February halfterm.Its a sport and craft hotel and all undercover even the walkways to all the buildings.Its also full board so a rest from cooking, childrens prices depend on the age of the child if you share a room.They have recently opened a play area (similar to a play pub) and I think they intend to open a water slide this summer.Lots of activities all included in the price eg T-shirt printing, jewellery making, hawk experience, crazy golf to mention a few.
