BOOM mortgage payment of £400 bringing current outstanding balances to £140,953.

Also shares have shot up again current holdings are £9569.

As I get paid every four weeks I get paid a total of 13 times a year so I use this 13th payment as a bonus so should see a big lump going on the mortgage at the end of the month as im getting paid twice in August.

POW big mortgage overpayment this month due to my extra pay, £1500 just slapped down on the mortgage, bankers take that! takes my current mortgage down to £139,453 so we have broken the £140,000 milestone should see over £5,000 come off in October as my M&S ISA matures then. Really looking forward to getting under £130,000

Share holdings are currently £9601 as these shares grow really see massive fluctuations in capital with small market movements despite paying in every four weeks

  • hi Streethack,

have just found your diary and have subscribed. Great job so far!!

One of your posts about your share scheme reminded me about shares I have with Lloyds TSB that I gained through a sharesave scheme many years ago, the shares were up about £10 per share at one point and I considered selling them, my OH talked me out of it at the time, saying they were a long term investment - fast forward 5/6 years and they are now worth 75p a share , mmmm not the best financial advise I have ever had!!

Good luck with your OPs, will follow your diary with interest(no pun intended!!):rotfl:

Thanks for the reply, gets a little lonely in here. I guess its not the most exciting diary to read, but hey its slowly slowly catchy monkey!

75p, ouch, I guess that's always the problems with shares and plans in general who knows what is around the corner? you can stick it back to them bankers by paying down your mortgage.

My M&S ISA matured so I have just whacked £5,450 off on the mortgage so eat that bankers! That leaves the remaining balance of my mortgage at £132,070

Well that's the last of the massive lump sum payments I have over £10,000 sitting in a Sanatander ISA which is my rainy day fund to be used to pay off the remaining mortgage in seven years time. Hopefully it is not needed before then.

  • KAZAMAR just made an overpayment of £400 leaves an outstanding mortgage balance of 131,670. Even better news is i am only £186 of my yearly target of £6000, so really pleased about that :)
