Should I stay or should I go??????

I need help please (again!!):money:

Trying to cut down my bills drastically. At present I am on Telewest "dial up" and am on surf unlimited. I pay approximately £26 per month. My landline is with Talk Talk of which I am paying approximately £15 per month, which includes line rental. I am on free evening and weekend calls.

I would like to change to broadband.:j ......Should I go with Talk Talk or is it better/cheaper to stay with Telewest - or indeed is there another provider who I could check out?

Talk to me please.............

  • That Telewest sounds very expensive - even slightly more than you should be paying for cable broadband with them. Definitely cheaper with TalkTalk, but as to better..............?? If you don't have any need to use customer service then it's fine, but if the install doesn't go smoothly, or if you have problems afterwards then it can take ages to sort out, if it is sorted at all. There are loads of forum posts about the subject, but of course you'll see far more complaints than praises - I do know of quite a few happy Talktalk customers so to save yourself £25/month it could well be worth the risk.
  • Telewest £26 for dial up? When I was on unlimited dial up with Tesco it was £12 a month. Does this include any television package?

Have you enquired of TalkTalk if you can get their "free" broadband with your line rental and calls.
  • Thanks for listening guys.....................:A

Telewest is for internet and phoneline only. No TV package.

Spoke with Talk Talk for "free" broadband, but was told that it is not available in my area as yet:mad:

    Not sure what to do:confused:

We have telewest broadband and I am loath to take business elsewhere, as the custimer service is excelent. They have price matched Sky BB for me for the last 5 months - credit of £36 per month on my account which is great!!

Well yesterday I received a letter from Telewest saying that I could have Digital TV (with movie channels), 2mb unlimited broadband and free evening and weekend calls for £62 per month. At present I am paying £84 for all three services.

How does that sound to you?:p
  • Sounds very expensive to me, read the NTL/Telewest threads where you'll find people who are paying very much less.

Incidentally you would need to change to BT for your line rental if you want to take up offers from TalkTalk or other suppliers.

How long have you been with Telewest?
  • Been with Telewest forever!!! At least 8 years. Using surf unlimited with a phone line.

I have a different phone line BT - which I am currently using with Talk Talk.

    My TV is with Sky.

    Confused????........I am......

    What next?

Whatever happens don't go anywhere near TT. It's been such a nightmare since I joined and now they're threatening me that if I leave they'll charge me £70 despite them not providing a proper internet service. Some pages are taking 30 minutes to load and I can't access my bank account anymore or Paypal. I've just called their technical support and they will call me back... in 10 days!! Sure.

The worst company that I've ever had the misfortune to deal with, I hate them for what they've done. I feel like my computer has been hijacked. I'm so upset.

Guess I'll have to stay away from TT then. Hear so many negative things:mad:

Might look into Telewest, but best quote I am getting so far is £62 per month for TV (with sky movies) BB (2mb) and phone line (free evening and weekend)

Who can offer me a better deal?:money:
