This is not something I looked into, but I found that hosting companies like vidahost and hostgator (which support multiple websites) have a lot of useful guides, and a helpful customer service, they may be able to help.
The cpanel (a very user-friendly hosting admin panel used by many hosting providers) website/forum is also useful.
Don't know if it's what you were looking for, but HTH

Wish I had!
Three months for what was supposed to be UK designed, this all gets done in Mumbai and the 'service' was terrible.
We were promised SEO optimisation that never happened, a logo (it's also my avatar) that is so low res it's a joke and pages and banners that would not have been visible on many tablets etc...
Communication was surly and uncooperative EVERYTHING was chargeable and they made no attempts to get on with the job. When I complained I was told (my email I kept) that they would run a smear campaign if we gave them poor reviews.
In the end we went 'live' a few weeks ago on our own server as we did not trust them and will change the password. We are now looking to get the site changed as all our Google adwords have a low quality score.
It looks 'ok' ukleakdetection (add the url bits if you want to have a look) but is not what as we wanted and I'm too scared to change it in case it breaks and takes forever to fix! :eek:Andrew Davies0 -
You really need to get that sorted asap.
For one thing, you are using an 0800 number and you have no address details so potential customers have no idea if they are in an area you cover,. You are also legally obliged to have proper contact details on your site.
The menu seems to white text on a white background so is invisible unless you hover over it and the Gas Safe logo image is over the top of the menu too.
Then you need to start on your SEO - a Google search just brings up your page title of "Home" - change it to something people will be searching for such as " leak repairs slough" or whatever.0 -

Yup, it's a load of poo, looks ok but lots of flaws and faults. Address was sent over a number of times, but never made it. Google search is not too bad as we have the adwords set-up to cover by area, but with low quality results it's taking more money per click to keep us high on the page.
Then I look at what is local and find people trying to sell moonfruit template sites for £500 and little to recommend anyone else. :think:Andrew Davies0 -

There's loads of firms around. I do a site that has 3000+ templates you just tailor. But if you wish to dress to impress, you need to get both done bespoke.
People per hour. Post an Hourlies with a full description for you logo @ £30, website for £150, discount for both. I do work on there and its a good earner, its full of freelancers, or those who work in design houses working from home for extra cash. it works on an Escrow system, check their portfolio, don't turn down a newbie just because they are we to the site. You may get someone who will do the mutts nuts job for you to help their rating, win win!
You will get snowed under with offers, set yourself a 10 day limit, with a five day timetable for the job. Just make sure you have your full wish list ready, it is a nightmare for those of us who are starred Pro's on there who win jobs customers have no clue what they want.
Anyway, a £1,000 job will cost no more than £200 on there.0
