Does linkage apply to PWCs with 2 cases?
The CSA web site says "It will not be possible to transfer to the new scheme from an earlier date. But if existing clients of the CSA are involved in a new case to which new rules apply, they will transfer early". This implies that linkage does apply to PWCs as well.
  • Thank you for copying it again, and have re-read it and to be honest it dpesnt read well, it almost reads for confusion, but maybe your friend that works for the CSA wll be able to tell you more than i know, and more than a tribunal knows, or maybe its a conspiracy, i will say night for now and please do let us know what you find out

Im still confused to his rise of £5 too, the csa arent fair yet in all fairness they have only increased his payments by £5, it still sounds to me like a phasing amount

Thanks for all the comments made - and apologises to anyone whose found my threads confusing in the past...

*note to self - don't post when all worked up*

To explain this bit again - when the CSA reassessed my maintenance contributions after I moved in with my girlfriend - they forgot to include the CTC element for my girlfriends daughter in the calculations for working out our household Protected Income...

This meant that although the maintenance assessment was for £65.43 - my household could only afford £64.11 before it hit the household Protected Income (that's the minimum the law states we need to live on each week)...

    Hope I haven't lost anyone yet ;)

If/when they recalculate our Protected Income (inc. the CTC element) we will have slightly more money each week and so will be able to pay the full £65.43...

Nothing is being phased in/out at this point - if they do want the extra money it will be £5.72 a month...

Does that make sense..?? I get confused very easily - until my 3rd coffee of the day anyway...

As on benefits she has no choice but to go through csa which is a shame as £1 for £1 is of what she gets from csa award is deducted from her benefits (this may have changed slightly though).

So basically mother is still left no better off and child looses out in long run........my ex used to pay direct to me and it worked well enabling me to clothe and feed our child and keep roof over head........though on breadline at time then csa got involved and I was left having to choose between food, paying electric or buying newspaper stamps etc for my job search.........let alone clothe her.

Oops! I forgot to ask - I was so furious with the solicitors for delaying (yet again!!) that it went out of my mind. I shall e-mail him now and he will probably respond on Monday.
