If you fancy exploring Northumberland - we have fantastic walks and 40 miles of beach. Check cottage availability for beach haven seahouses or sand haven beadnell (both accept dogs).
Northumberland is a place we have all ways wanted to visit, have heard so many nice things about it.
Just need to win the lottery and have 48 hours in every day to fit it all in.:)0 -
DH booked an apartment in the Isle of Wight last November, the weather was surprisingly mild and dogs were allowed on beaches as it was 'out of season'. Most of the pubs were dog friendly too, we all had a lovely time. The apartment owners were very helpful too - DH booked through Hoseasons, but Cottages4u and the Dogs Trust (Welcome Cottages) are also good.
We are off to Lake Windermere on Saturday for a week - hopefully we can encourage our lazy beagle to lose some lard ha ha!
Thank you ,never stayed on the isle of wight but for the last couple years done an early dec stay in the new forest then spent a day on the isle beautiful beaches and whilst cold very sunny

There are two good websites to visit where it is the GUESTS who recommend as being dog-friendly rather than just the owners advertising their proeprties as dog-friendly.
These are: mycottageholiday.co.uk and rated-places.com
Both give reviews from previous guests.

Weymouth has a great section of doggie friendly beach last time we were there so many doggies enjoying the beach:) hope you have a great holiday and please would love to know how you get on:)0 -
when we had one dog we rented caravans and cottages but when we got a second dog the cost got silly for taking them.
so we got a touring caravan and both dogs love it and most of the sites we go to have lovely dog walks. we say they have a bed they can use but my standard poodles like to sleep part of the night with us so normally jump on our bed to sleep ( have a super kings size bed at home have a lot less room in caravan bed lol ) we use caravan club so dont pay for dogs and sites all over uk0 -
I've used Sykes Cottages before. We don't actually have a dog, but we do take our cat away with us (yes, I know it's slightly unconventional, but she hates the cattery!!).
We went to the Peak District in April. The cottage we stayed in was very animal friendly. We've booked for the Yorkshire Dales in August - also taking the cat again :-) Sykes Cottages (and the cottage owners) have been brilliant. Would highly recommend them! In the Peak District the cottage owners even lent us a large dog cage for the cat to stay in whilst we were out.
Obviously it's not the same as taking a dog, as we can't take the cat out with us. However, most places in the Peak District seemed to be very dog friendly.0
