Slow / unresponsive pc

Despite thinking I keep my pc in tip top condition, my desktop has become slow and unresponsive. I keep my programmes up to date constantly using FileHippo Update Checker and Secunia PSI. I also run CCleaner regularly and Malwarebytes on occasion although it never finds anything.
I use Opera and don't know if it is an Opera problem as I often get the cursor going round and a message at the top of the browser saying it's not responding.
Despite my Java being up to date, I also get a problem when I try to complete an online jigsaw. In Opera I can complete it, but at the end the page doesn't refresh to record my score. If I do it in Firefox the pieces don't drag across the screen.
I have just run Malwarebytes and will post the log in the next post. I have also downloaded Hijack This and will post the log once I have done a scan.

Are you using broadband and a vodafone dongle together ?🍺 😎 Still grumpy, and No, Cloudflare I am NOT a robot 🤖BUT my responses are now out of my control they are posted via ChatGPT or the latest AI0
-
No I'm not, I'm just using Plusnet BB. The Vodafone dongle is a back up in case the BB goes down.0
-
do a full scan with malwarebytes, fix anything found before closing.
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2436849
start at step 3, tdsskiller onwards
spybot, secunia, comodo, soluto, update checker, roxwatch, windows defender etc running all the time aren't good for maintaining for a speedy machine.
speedtouch 330?
is avast v6?
using hijackthis, tick and fix all the O15 and O16's and these

Thanks, I will look at that tomorrow.
Any problems with my logs?0 -
yes, as above, rid it of bloat, and scan with kaspersky.!!
> . !!!! ----> .0 -
Thanks for that. I fixed the things you suggested in HJT and have carried out some of the suggestions in your thread. I have also disabled Windows Defender.
Before I go uninstalling Comodo, etc can you tell me how I will stop my pc from getting malware? I have Avast 6 and Comodo FW at the moment and no longer have Defender.0 -
That's avast's job, uninstall comodo, enable windows firewall, and do FULL manual scans with malwarebytes occasionally.!!
> . !!!! ----> .0 -
Re cleanmem problem, which link are you using?
You don't need to install it if you hav 4GB of ram, it's more useful in low ram situations!!
