Hi, does anybody live in somerset on the 3 network, have trouble with signal at the moment, i have been with them for nearly 5 years now, and everything up to yesterday has been fine with them with regards to signal strength, i have a iphone 4, plus a htc hero, which as from yesterday are now showing no signal, or if i can get a signal it is very brief, and only ever 1 bar, has anybody else had any problems the last 2 days, i can safetly rule out a phone problem as being as it is 2 different phones, so can only presume it is a network fault, i only hope it is nothing to do with them stopping the roaming onto the orange network that i keep reading about

TIA
Take every day as it comes!!

if you used to get a 3G signal then it will likely be that a mast is down or something and not be because of turning off the 2G from orange (because all 3G is from either their own masts or t-mobiles and that agreement is still in force)
if you only ever got a 2G signal then it could well be because of them turning off the 2G signal is the reason.

it is the mast, they are hoping to have it fixed by 25th, they have refunded me a weeks line rental as a gesture of good wil

  • I have recently changed to an ip4 from a ip3 and the calls keep dropping. It's driving me mad, is anyone else having this issue, is it a wireless issue?

call apple and say you are having signal problems, they should send you a free bumper case
  • I haven't experienced the 'death grip' issue either. But in my area where I live, 3G signal is very poor and my iPhone 4 often has only 1 bar or no service... so I just end up turning 3G off in the menu and I'm back to pretty much full signal. Not a great solution, but seeing as I am at home if I want to go on the net with my iPhone I just use wifi so don't need the 3G.
