After reading a few items here about the various broadband deals available, together with some of the horror stories, I made two phone calls. One to BT and one to Pipex.
I have been with Pipex for 3 years, with an unlimited broadband connection at £24.50 per month.
I telephoned Pipex and requested a MAC, with the intention of transferring to a cheaper product offered by BT.
The end result - I AM STAYING WITH PIPEX!!
Pipex offered me 5 MONTHS FREE UNLIMITED BROADBAND, FOLLOWED BY 7 MONTHS UNLIMITED BROADBAND AT £8.16 PER MONTH.
Thus reducing my annual cost from £294.00 to £57.16 over the next 12 months.
Thanks to MoneySavingExpert, I saved £236.84 for the price of two phone calls. And one of those was a free phone number!!

Well done. Good saving
I was with Pipex for years until they were taken over by Tiscali.
I wouldn't use them for broadband now if they paid me.0 -

Funny thing was, I switched from BT to Tiscali via a MAC and after 6 weeks, they could still not manage to activate my broadband connection.
It was then that I went with Pipex.
Credit where credit is due, no down time, no loss of service, no problems whatsoever and I am a 24/7 heavy user!!0 -
Good deal and the best of luck...... if it all goes to plan it'll be fine, if they decide to balls things up as happened to my mum's Pipex account then you'll need the patience of a saint.
