Can anyone help me. When I have just looked at the website for Capital One I notice that the criteria does not say you can not apply for a different Capital One card if you already hold one anymore, have they changed the criteria as I thought I may apply for the Progress card if you can balance transfer from a different issuers card (Aqua), I have held a Classic ( I think) for nearly 4 years now. Maybe I just cant see that it says you cant apply if you hold a card with them already, I can be a little slow sometimes, lol.

If you click through to apply for a Cap one card, it does still state
You don't already have a Capital One credit card

Therefore the answer would be no you cannot have more than one still .
Can I find out my credit score?
You do not have a single credit score or rating. Different organisations take different information into account when working out your credit score and may have different scores for different products. (Kindly from Experian)

A quick check before you apply...
    • You're over 18
    • You're on the electoral roll
    • You haven't had any CCJs or defaults in the last 12 months
If you don't think the Progress card is right for you, why not see all our cards
Please note that meeting these criteria does not guarantee acceptance.

Please read this information carefully before you apply:
Everything you need to know about your Capital One credit card

    Using your credit card

You can use your credit card to buy in stores, online or over the phone, and to do balance transfers and withdraw cash. Your credit card is also accepted in many places worldwide, so you can use it when you're abroad.
In some cases we might charge a fee for certain services. Please read your Pre-Contract Information and Terms and Conditions for more information.
It is also useful to know that credit cards are not always suitable for long-term borrowing. So think carefully before making large transactions and paying only the minimum each month. If you choose to only make minimum repayments each month, it would take longer and cost you more to pay off the balance.
If you want to withdraw cash with your credit card, you'll be charged a fee and relatively expensive interest rates.
Make sure you look out for the Visa or MasterCard logo (depending on your card type) before paying for goods - your card is not accepted everywhere.
It's also worth noting that some businesses add a surcharge for using a credit card.
    Monthly payments

The amount payable each month will vary - this depends on how you have used your credit card.
You'll find the minimum amount payable for each month on your monthly statement.
If your outstanding balance is less than £5, you'll need to repay the full balance. Otherwise your minimum payment will be the greater of either £5 or the total of: 1% of the outstanding balance on your account; plus interest applied to your account in that month; plus all Default Sums incurred in that month; and one twelfth of your Annual Fee (if applicable).
    Interest rates

Different interest rates may apply to different types of transactions, meaning some transactions incur more interest than others. For example cash withdrawals usually have interest charged from the date of the transaction and are sometimes at a higher rate of interest than purchase transactions.
With your Capital One credit card, you'll get up to 56 days interest free on purchases, providing you pay off your balance in full each month. However, we'll always charge interest on balance transfers and cash withdrawal transactions - unless you have a 0% introductory/promotional rate.
Please note that upon giving you a valid reason, we do have the right to change the interest rates, fees and charges applied to your account at any time. But we'll notify you of this change if and when it occurs.
For more details of interest rates and fees, please see Pre-Contract Information or your Terms and Conditions.
    Making payments

If you're unable to pay your balance in full, we'll allocate your payments to pay off balances attracting the highest interest rate(s) first. We'll first allocate payments to amounts that have directly appeared on a monthly statement, then to new transactions.
Consequences of missing payments or going over your credit limit

You will need to make minimum repayments by the due date shown on your monthly statement. If you fail to do so:
    - You will be charged default sums
    - It will take you longer and cost you more to pay off your balance
    - You may not qualify for interest rate decreases to which you may have otherwise been entitled.

It is important to keep up with your monthly repayments. Missing payments could have severe consequences. For example, it could affect your credit rating and make obtaining credit in future difficult. It could also potentially involve you in legal proceedings and, in some cases, a charging order being issued by the court.
You will need to stay below your credit limit at all times. If you fail to do so you will be charged default sums.
    Cancelling your credit card agreement

You do have the right to cancel your agreement without giving any reason for a 14-day period. Your right to cancel starts from the day after you receive your card and a copy of the concluded agreement, and ends 14 days later.
You can cancel your agreement by phoning 08444 812 812* or writing to us at Capital One, PO Box 5282, Nottingham, NG2 3FB. You'll have 30 days to repay any amounts that you may have borrowed, plus any interest on that amount at the relevant interest rate under your agreement. If you would like to know the amount of interest payable per day on the money you have borrowed, simply ask us.
If you don't cancel your agreement, you'll be bound by the terms of the credit agreement you signed. Remember, you'll always have the right to close your account - as long as you give us the appropriate notice and pay outstanding balances in accordance with the terms of your credit agreement.
    More information

Please make sure you read and consider the Pre-Contract Information and Terms and Conditions carefully. They include important information about the credit card you're applying for.
If you have any questions about your agreement, or if you would like more information, please call us on 08444 812 812*.

*Typical call charge from a BT landline is 5p per minute plus a connection fee may be charged. Calls from other networks and mobiles may be higher. Calls may be recorded or monitored for training purposes.

Interesting but in the Ts and Cs of classic account

Can I apply for another Capital One credit card?
No, you'll need to close your existing account and then reapply. There's no guarantee that you'll be accepted because each product has different lending criteria

    (P.S
Information orginally posted was for application of classic account not progress)

The application for the Classic and the OneRate both say if you already have a Capital One card, don't apply. But the Progress and World MasterCard don't say that, they just say don't apply if you don't live in the UK. Also, looking through the Ts & Cs of both the Classic and Progress doesn't say anything about not having 2 cards anymore.

Where on the site did you find it? I looked everywhere.

I was just on the phone to them and they told me you can apply for the Progress account if you have a Classic account.

under the section Account Services, section in blue New customer and pin information, first question :
Can I apply for another Capital One credit card?

I'd get back on the phone and tell them their website is different from the information you have been given on the phone...
