I just found an email in mine saying about the security breach :o

    Customer Advice

Please do be vigilant with your email and personal information when using the internet

Shouldn't they take their own advice?

    what was it you missed?

that someone may contact you and pretend to be play, com in the same way that 100 other scams try and contact you like banks, tax office etc?

if you had recieved such a mail from play.com would you have followed it and entered your id's?

and if so what would have happened? they would have logged in as you and been able to order things with you credit card ? to an address they can trace.

They cant see your credit card details as they are hashed out so there is very little in your play.com account which isnt available in the electoral reqister.

Thats why you dont get scams from people such as Amazon etc as they will next to no value in them. If there was , you'd get 1000's

rant over, now going for a lie down before I start sending some emails as admin-play.com:rotfl:

I had an email this morning so knew there was an issue. This is one of the most viewed boards, the title says it isn't a grabbit, the OP was trying to do people a favour. I don't see what the problem is. I try not to get involved in online bickering but what a rude unnecessary post.
Smashed through my weightloss target. Looking at 120lbs+ loss. BMI over 40 down to 20.5. Training hard to get body fat under 20%, not far to go now :j

the only reason this forum is popular is because of the deals. If it ends up filled as a general board , then it wont be popular and people wont be able to see the spam from the grabbits

There is also a reason why the other boards for this type of information arent widely viewed, and thats because most people arent interested in them. else they would look in those forums.

I was only trying to explain that for people looking for grabbits , having a board filled with good intention related spam doesnt do anyone any good.

the forum is called grabbits so to use it as a dumping ground for anything that people may feel of value seems a bit rude to me. even if done with the best intentions.

So why not jump on the thank you threads? To me, these seem more pointless to people just looking for grabbits, than someone posting a warning.

I think this is a Play issue that it's worth reminding people of. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1531695
    Booo!!!
  • I won't use Play.com anymore as last year they mixed my account up with someone elses so when i logged in with my email address and password it brought up someone elses details! So someone elses name, address, order history, credit card details etc! It took ages to resolve and Play were really unhelpful even when I spoke to them on the phone about it!
