injunctions, harassment, suing

Anybody know why it is proving nigh on impossible for a family member to get assistance with an injunction for harassment against the local council, for proven harassment it has gone on for a year (opened and closed case 5 times,) now seems they can have the case open permanently - though they can not do this according to other city councils guidelines on the same topic...and the council have not been able to bring a prosecution of the alleged 'crime' (family member involved has his MP full support as well who is quite amazed)

Obviously he hasn't gone locally as he would definitely have expected this to be the case, ie local solicitors definitely won't help with anything against councils or other government bodies, i think the phrase is they all pee in the same pot; but has tried a couple of london injunction companies on line who have oddly said 'no-one will touch the subject of suing the council' even if they are harasssing you and you have proof, even if they are wasting tax payers money, you can prove these things yes, but they will claim that they are simply doing their job, although you and I know different....yet they will happily help with suing the meddling neighbour involved for harassment...

I wonder why.....nobody dare challenge them, the council, in a court...hmmm

Anybody recommend any firm he could use,? or an answer as to why nobody will dare to challenge a council, - or is he going to have to represent himself, ?as he starting to think he may have to...

Thanks.

The Harassment laws were brought in initally as a way to stop stalkers.

Although the police try to offload all different scenarios onto the Harassment Act, it is very hard to make it stick.

Can you expand a little on what crime/offence has occured?

oh yes exactly right! the local paper has been silenced or gagged by the local council more times than I care to remember...escpecially re the icelandic banks fiasco...infact one one question was asked in the qiestion time, which could have unearthed some corruption which everybody was already speculating the council withdrew its funds for advertising, ie would not advertise in their/with their paper or its family...I know a journalist who works there, went to same school good source of info...

Have you approached the Local Government Ombudsman? I had an issue with a local govt compliance officer, he decided I was living with someone whilst claiming a single person discount (I wasn't!), and went out of his way to make me feel very uncomfortable, far beyond what any investigation should involve. My complaints were going nowhere, until I threatened to go to the LGO. At that point I got an apology from the Chief Exec and they overhauled their investigation/ home visits procedures.
    Gone ... or have I?
