Don't you think the word "profession", as in "I am a member of the medical profession" has a distinct meaning to being a professional sportsman, as opposed to an amateur one?
well if that is the case, then the same distinction presumably applies to anyone in a "profession" which has no barriers to access. e.g. an estate agent.0
