    That wouldn't work.

There's a local Estate Agent I pass with 5 of them sitting around playing computer games all day. Between the five of them, I am convinced they would add up to a total IQ of 110.

Or maybe a few team dethmatch wins on Modern Warfare 2 ? *

*Assuming they can afford decent PCs to play said game on.

    estate agents are professional people

    Not in my experience.

Being an estate agent must be the only "profession" that doesn't require professional (or any) qualifications.

My local friendly estate agent is a Cambridge graduate. He's a very clever bloke and well worth listening to.

    Anglia Ruskin I take it?

i don't think professional footballers have to have professional qualifications, although i may be wrong as i heard robbie savage on the radio the other day, and his advocacy skills did suggest that he may well have passed his bar exams.

what does it say about you?

That you are not easily led and have a brain that works.

Sadly that is not the majority.

Don't you think the word "profession", as in "I am a member of the medical profession" has a distinct meaning to being a professional sportsman, as opposed to an amateur one?

Twice I've made low offers and twice it has spectacularly backfired on me.
Both times the vendor later sold to someone else at a lower price than the one I offered.

Even though I'm extremely nice and don't have the the slightest air of a belligerent and self-important housepricecrasher, the sellers were both so insulted by the offer that they just struck me off.

Later they were worn down with time and had to accept lower offers but even though my offers were still on the table, even raised a little, pride prevented them from coming back to me.

Then I had to watch other families moving into the houses we really wanted for less money than I offered.
