That's not gonna happen realistically, is it? I'm never going to call the police on my own mum.

And you are probably not going to get credit/a mortgage etc.
Your choice, but she has broken the law and in not reporting it you are taking the punishment...Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017

Then there is nothing you can do about this bill except pay it.
However, if she has been doing stuff like this since you were 13 then realistically it's never going to stop, is it?
I don't envy you one bit - it must be a horrible situation to be in.0 -
No need to call police or get into a fraud discussion.
Simply tell BT that you have not entered into a contract with them. The bill has nothing to do with you. The onus of proof that the debt is yours is on them. You can tell them it's your mother's if you like - but don't go any further than that. Make it clear that you've received no benefit from this contract.
After that, it's up to them. They could chase your mother, write it off, cut the phone line, or just do nothing for a while.
BT is the "victim" of this fraud. It will be for them to decide what to do next. If THEY involve the police and the police contact you - then tell them what's happened or refuse to help is you prefer. But that does seem unlikely...0 -
She's called them and is going to pay £20 a month. Will it be negative until it's paid off? It's only £200 and she said she'd pay it off as quickly as she could *sigh* I'm so worried to look at my credit file in case there's other stuff I dont know about0

Did she tell you why she did it?0

You really should, I know it's an awful situation to be in, but it's better to know than one day get a knock at the door to find out that she's been doing this lots to fund her lifestyle and you have loads of CCJ's logged in your name.
I'd hate doing this too, but she could be ruining your life, I hope it's not that bad, but when in 5 years you get a notice that 'your' creditors that you knew nothing about are filling for bankruptcy. not only will it be a nightmare for you, but your mum will be seriously in big troubleOpinions are like bottoms - We all have one, just some stink more than others

Simple (but a hassle!) Get your credit report. Having told BT (and any others) that the agreements aren't yours, you can then get them removed from your report.0 -
Really? Will I have to tell them that it's my mum, if I DONT tell them can I get into trouble cause I know who it is? I was wondering why I could get an overdraft (I only have ever had my orange contract, which is up to date, but got turned down with my own bank for a £100 OD.
