Bath Bomb's and ideas for boy's party bags

Options
Am looking for cheap bath bomb's to put in girls party bags. Asda sell them but £1,78 which I think is too pricey as the girls are only 7.
As I have twins (one of each) I'm also on the lookout for inexpensive boy's party bag gifts.
Not cars, dinosaurs, etc as they seem to have outgrown them now.
Party bags are a nightmare where I live. It is bloomin' ridiculous with parents trying to see who can give the best one. Last year my twins gor a dvd each  :D
I have so far resisted the pressure....and will continue to do so.....

if

I can get some ideas :rotfl:

It's the world gone mad...thank GOD for this site:T

Bath bombs for 15p and 29p in home bargains if you have access to that shop.

If you're looking for something apparently generous but moneysaving I think that a pack of books from the book people is a good bet - distribute one each. They do ten Horrid Henry books for £9.99, ten Roald Dahl for £12.99, 8 Quentin Blake for £8.99, seven Rainbow Magic Jewel Fairies for £7.99 etc.

A good book, a slice of cake and maybe one choccie thing would be a great take home for just over £1 per child and something that would actually be used rather than plasticy junk to bin as soon as you get home. There are free delivery codes on the relevant forum on here (or automatic free delivery if you spend £25+)

I've also done selection packs/big tubes of choccies as take homes at this time of year. Again working on the theory that children are happy to receive them and I'm not going to be cluttering other people's houses up. There are lots of deals in the supermarkets - I think I've seen a thread about bogof selection packs in tesco on grabbit.

Hi, thanks for suggestion but I don't want to stop party bags because I know how much mine love getting them when they go to a party. I just want to stop the ridiculous one upmanship cost wise.

I am going to check out the home bargains shop tomorrow and see what they have.

why not hit poundland if u have one, they often have things u can split to use in party bags or wilkinsons have some to

i usually put some sweets in, a small toy, a piece of cake, maybe a pencil or something,, this year i have some glow in the dark ants which cost 50p for 8, i also save the little free things i find on comics (cheap market ones) or given out at shows etc and put them in like keyrings or tattoos (or buy a pack and cut them up)..

if its this time of year buy the sweets cheap after halloween the kids dont care if they have bulging eyeballs in their party bags lol

my party bags are always bulging and the kids are really chuffed with them yet they probably cost less then 50p a bag

DVDs in them???? good grief have they gone mad!!??

I think somewhere on the discount thread there was a free p&p code.

I agree with pound shops and definitely Home Bargains.
I also found a free website where you can download paper planes. Print them off and stick them in the party bags for them to cut and glue etc

    Good luck.

for ds1s 4th we gave a present & a piece of cake instead of a party bag - i got some abc & 123 sticker books that were about 80p each. most kids thought they were great but one 2 year old threw a paddy cos he wanted a party bag. u can't please them all! a lot of mums said it was good not to get loads of sweets etc (a few of his friends go hyper after 1 piece of chocolate!)
goo dluck & i hope then party goes well.
Cleaning the house while children are growing is like shovelling snow when it's still snowing!
  • i think the book idea is a good one, we had a beach party last year for my twins and gave everyone bucket and spades to take home instead of party bags
If you want the rainbow you have to go through the rain.

DMP start jan 2012 hopefull finish march 2020

Weight to loose 49lbs done of 91lbs finally sat in a pair of size 14 jeans and top for the first time in 14 years :j
  • If you have a clearance Woolworths near you they have lots of party bag stuff reduced to 50p. My little boy will be three in March and I have stocked up on 'normal' stuff - thomas blowers and book marks, charm bracelets for girls, pencils with animals on top etc.

There is also some cheap stuff in Tesco or look in Wilkinsons after Xmas if you can wait that long. Last year our Wilkinsons reduced all the Xmas stock to 20p - CD's, DVD's, teddy's, handbags etc.

I try to buy stuff all year round as I see it rather than look around when I actually need it. Just have to remember where I put it.

    Good luck and happy shopping.

I myself am a sucker for a bath bomb and love the ones in lush but now won't pay for them (I used to chop them in half anyway!) I have now found two places on e-bay that make and sell their own and they are fab They also do stars and hearts with glitter and flowers and snowmen and one does little bear faces so they are perfect for girlies. the more you buy, the better deal you can get as they combine postage. send me a private message and I will give you their e-mail address.
