2007 - youtube yay :j
2008 - youtube yay :j
2009 - youtube yay :j
2010 - youtube....Vevo? whats vevo?
2011 - youtube :( adverts, vevo, editing, no music....if i wanted to listen to vevo i would have gone to vevo, get off youtube, stop capitalising and let us upload and listen to what we like, i don't need the ads either, they take ages to finish and are annoying.

This was a fantastic site that was turned to crap.

I know! It used to be wonderful and now it's full of ads. Ads around the video, ads before the video, ads IN the video... :o

The ads are why they are losing money, they used to give shares to uploaders - but that all stopped when vevo came and ruined it, now they have screwed up a great thing and losing money. They used to be very profitable.

  • I can't stand the ads, got the same complaint about Spotify as well! Spotify ones got even more obnoxious now, as well as having the voice ones, the visual ones now keep moving all over the place so you accidentally click on them.
  • It's not just the ads that bug me on YT, it's their double-standards which allows bullying and vigilantes to ruin the lives of other users, through abuse, hateful comments, false flagging and spamming accounts...

It's no longer the fun place with loads of entertaining, home-made videos any more, it's all about TV shows, music videos, sales pitches and all that, it's ThemTube, not YouTube... :(

Youtube have never been profitable since the inception of it.. google have not even made back what they paid for it i dont think..

You think the many many servers they use come cheap? Or the power to keep the servers on?

I have noticed that for most music videos there is the yellow line that tells you when the ad is coming on and then you click it off again. It no hard shake..

Tell you what though try clicking a few and help the company out rather then !!!!!ing because something that you use for FREE needs to pay its own bills.

They have been saying that they are near profitability since 2006 so I wouldn't hold your breath. There is no such thing as a Free Lunch and you will alway pay for something somewhere
