  • Hotel chocolat don't do a diabetic range but they do make low sugar chocs which I have bought for a diabetic friend (who loved me for it!)

if you look under 'Person' you'll see their little rant about diabetic chocs. The diabetics I know say that choc labelled suitable for diabetics is often really gross.

My mum is a diabetic and HATES diabetic chocs. She would much rather have 1 normal choc and enjoy it than 10 diabetic chocs and not enjoy. Are you sure the person you are buying for likes diabetic chocs?

    Hello Ellie

I buy my father-in-law diabetic chocolates from Thorntons and he enjoys them. Why don't you buy a small box and then ask for some feedback? If he enjoys them, you can buy a bigger box next time. If he doesn't enjoy them, you won't have wasted a lot of money.;)

I think thats probably the best idea! I hadnt realised thorntons did diabetic chocolates until i posted on here either. If their diabetic ones are even just half as nice as the others then im sure he will enjoy them lots! ;)

My mum is diabetic and in her 70's, and she likes both the chocolate and the toffees from Boots or Thorntons. If I were you, OP, I would get a selection of different things (small choc bars, packets of toffees etc rather than one box of chocs), maybe some diabetic shortbreads or something too, present them in a little basket or something so it looks nice.

That way, if some are nicer than others he will soon say which were his favourites, you can make a note for next time.
