Calculating The Charges

Hi all,
I am just about to send off my claim to the Abbey, this maybe a dumb question but having used Martin's interest calculator do you deduct the £12 recommended fee before inputting the charge value? i.e. you would input a £35 charge as £23?

The £12 recommended fee is still ludicrously high. It's the OFT's way of appeasing the banks - they know too that it's too high and the OFT has stated that even though it says £12 is the maximum it would still be willing to say that an amount under £12 is too high if it investigated it and it was obvious that there was a profit. So claim it all back

Most banks have been refunding the whole charge, so claim for it all and if they do dispute the amount, deal with that when it happens.0
