Ok, I was only trying to help. Giving a few suggestions.

I thought there could have been more than one place in the kitchen where you could have put a wall mounted bracket and positioned it so it was at your preferred viewing height & angle. I do not know the layout of your kitchen, is there possibly another corner you could put the tv, etc.

If you already have a LCD tv wall bracket similar to the one I posted, you obviously don't need to buy a new one. I was just suggesting that one, because in my experience they have been much better suited to my needs than the standard wall brackets that are available.

If you will only consider putting the tv in that one position, above your microwave, can't you move the microwave somewhere else in the kitchen?

I agree with the others, I wouldn't put a tv on top of a microwave either, it is just not a good idea. It could be damaged by the microwave, it won't be very stable and could be knocked off, it could damage the microwave if you cover it......

Appreciate the suggestions, but as I put in my OP, "have only 2 places I can put it", microwave takes up to much room elsewhere, it's position now is in a corner of a bay so is not obtrusive, no other places as all taken up with wall units etc, plus the aerial outlet is in the bay area.
I won't put it above the microwave and will have to put up with the picture distortion, unless I can persuade Argos to replace it with a better model/make as I believe better models do not always have this bad viewing angle problem.

I really don't think Argos have to replace it or will replace it, as there is nothing actually wrong with the TV.

Saying that though, my experience with Argos and tvs has been very good. But only because they had actual faults, so rather than repair it, they offered me a replacement upto the same value.

This is just a generic problem with all LCD tvs, they all have a viewing angle, generally, where you need to be looking head on, so as not to get any shadows etc. Some will be better than others, but they will all still have this problem in some form.

(This is why I went for a Plasma for my main tv, as they don't have this problem, not useful for portable tvs in kitchens and bedrooms though I know!)
