Has it got nothing to do with what we actually call diesel these days? All this lower sulphur, bio blended stuff and some of the new standards that need to be passed for these new high pressure injectors must surely mean that the stuff that comes out of the pumps now is more expensive than the tractor juice from the 80s was?
Oh, and of course 80p out of £1.30 of 'fuel' goes is tax, doesn't account for the difference between diesel and petrol though.0 -
