Free ringtone sites
Can anyone suggest any completely free ringtone sites I could try?
I've looked at a couple such as https://www.mobiles24.com, but when I went to download the ringtone it said there would be a charge of £4.50 a week until you texted STOP.
I've never downloaded a ringtone before so any advice or suggestions on how to do it would be appreciated.

Many thanks for that. I have managed to download the ringtone I wanted. However I now have no idea how to find it on my phone. It's an Orange San Francisco / ZTE Blade which I am still trying to get to grips with.
Do you have any idea how I can find it and assign it to my notifications rather than my ringtones?
Edit - I have now found it on my phone, but don't know how to make it a notification sound.0 -

You normally have to go into the settings for that area of the phone (eg:- SMS settings) and then select "edit". One of them would be to attach the ringtone. The alternative is normally to find the tone and then select options. Within there is normally the option to assign it to a contact or a function.
Sorry to be so vague but not familiar with your model. I just know thats how Ive done it on Nokias, Motorolas and Samsungs0 -
I did finally find it under Filer and read on another website to do a long press on it and then the option would pop up to set as ringtone, which it did, but I really wanted to assign it to Notifications as I wanted to use it as an alarm and can't find how to do that.0

Store the file in /media/audio/ringtones on your SD card (you'll need to create the directory structure).
Then you'll find it in the list of ringtones.
For text tones use /media/audio/notifications
For alarm tones use /media/audio/alarms0 -
Can you give me idiot proof instructions how to do that? I am new to Smartphones and ma just finding my way round the phone with some difficulty.0

Guess the most basic way is to plug the phone into your PC, and just just Windows to make the folders, then just move the file from the download folder.0

Audiko.net is what I use for the iPhone. Other ringtones were free but I'm not sure they are now.I would have used my own initiative if someone would have told me to!0
