Yet another busy day for me. Helping someone move today, as part of which I get to build a bookcase and carry lots of bags of books up and down stairs (must take some ibuprofen now whilst I remember) and then I have to get this place clean for a possible visitor tomorrow, and come up with a decent Sunday lunch out of the freezer.

What I actually want to do is play in the garden

    Good morning all! :hello:

Thought I'd pop in, as chatting is allowed at the weekend and I've missed you all, and to be honest, it's the first weekend in a long time that hasn't been choca with appointments, so I've had a spare minute to come on here.

It's only 10 days until we fly to Jamaica, and 13 days until our wedding! :jMy Dad has agreed to take us to the airport, and I told him it would be like him giving me away, and my Mum is going to collect us from the airport at the other end of the honeymoon. Moon's Mum has agreed to look after Ebony (she only lives next door), and I joked that all she needed to do was put an extra bowl out at her house, as he's always round there eating Sooty's (her cat) food anyway! :rotfl:

I'm off to put the washing machine on in a minute, as Moon has put the washing line back out at my request to make the most of the good weather. :) As the sun is starting to shine through, I'd better get a move on.

I hope everyone is well. Well done to all of the new flyladies who have managed their first week - you'll see a difference in no time at all!:T

Hugs to anyone who is feeling poorly or has been visited by the black dog.

Love and kisses to you all,

    sexymouse xx

    Hello Flying Folks..

Long time no post here. Hope you are all well, havent caught up with the fred but I am sending Love, Hugs and Spoons to all who need/want them.

Been busy at work which is going really well. Doing 4 days a week now and for the next couple of weeks then should get back to full time hours. Its tiring and all but the work environment is a lot more relaxed and I am managing the stress etc ever so well so far. My new manager is a great guy and we clicked with humour and attitude so all is good (wow yes i said good).

Anyway my home is suffering a little as I am finding getting back to work after such a long absence quite tiring, specially when you add 2hrs driving to an 8hr shift. Anyway am off this weekend so am going to have a go at doing some of the flying tasks. I will sort through and make myself a manageable list of what needs to be done from the weekly list..

    2. Wipe over oven and hob!
Thursday ~ Study or other reception room & bathrooms
    Level One

Clear the clutter from all these rooms!!
wash any curtains/blinds/mats etc that need doing
    Level Two
    Vacuum the floors
Clean bath, toilets, shower and sinks
Wipe down the tiles and defragment the pc while doing this.
    Level Three

    Extras

Ok that seems more manageable. Things have been kept reasonably organised as I have been practising CAYG (Clean as you go). Ok I shall finish my coffee and make a start.. washing is already rotating in the machine soo...

    Morning all

Since getting up (7.30) I've fed the cat (and tried to show her the litter tray without any success), made drinks, completed the census online and caught up with e-mails/messages. Must now

do breakfast (DS1 and friend are awake, too )
    DW
    start laundry
plan the day, as there are a few question marks (will post more detailed list in a bit)

It's gloomy and miserable here and the same forecast for tomorrow. Hope everyone else has better weather.
    Back in bit. x

Feel as if it should be lunch time - was awake ridiculously early - so was up filling the WM with three loads of the washing on the cheap electricity. Then went back to bed so I could take advantage of the cup of tea in bed that is mine when Mr B goes to work at the weekend - if I'm in bed - and read a couple of chapters of my trashy novel.

Now everything seems to have gone on hold whilst I supervise an extremely lengthy feeding session with Mrs Dog. wacko.gif

Ah well. Lots of flying plans for today when Mrs Dog has finished. Bit dull here and the promise of rain, so may have to be indoor jobs.

LW been reading the saga of your voluntary work handover, and the wise words from so many and especially Toots. Seems to me that if the unexpected makes you uncomfortable you are being extremely sensible in taking a deep breath and stipulating you need 48 hours notice. You are always gong to have the problem of people not understanding what you can and can't do and cope with, but if you are prepared to try to explain then people can try to respond to you in a way you can deal with. I 'think' I can empathise with how meetings with strangers and the unexpected is difficult for you, but there will always be others who don't find it as easy to grasp. I think the more that you, or the lovely Mr LW can explain to the Area guy how YOU need to do things to make it easier for you to cope with the meeting, maybe, although it sounds as if you will find things easy, it might just be a tad less horrible for you.

Anyway, when you meet these volunteers, just think of them grovelling around on the floor trying to collect fluff bugs from under the bed, or unblocking their loo, or scrubbing out their cooker - they will be normal people doing normal things.

And most importantly, keep us up to date with when you are having your meeting. We will all have to make sure we save up lots of huge spoon for you and send lots of posi-vibes for the time of your meeting.

Right. Mrs Dog is down to the last four inches of breakfast. Dare I move or will this stop progress!? Need to get on and do something!

LameWolf thats good that you have a date to get organised for now - you mentioned 'giving up' totally but the problems it would cause the area guy - well excuse me young lady that is not your problem! it sounds like you have done far more than your fair share. It is the same in loads or organisations - the same people get put upon and do all the work. Do you enjoy doing it? How much time does it take up? What would you do with the time if you weren't doing it? Does the paperwork take up a lot of space that you could utilise? If you get more woofies would you still have the inclination to be doing it? Is it a chore? maybe the time is right for you to handover - only you know - but you musnt be worrying about the consequences for others that just causes stress (((hugs)))

Thanks, Toots for that; I'm also involved in voluntary work which, for various reasons, is not fulfilling, is really hard work and has gone up a gear in the last few weeks. There was a good time to give it up; sadly, that was at the end of 2008 and I only realised that fact a year later.:( (I'll leave that to sink in....)

I can no longer be a one woman bottom kicking machine for everybody, I don't have the energy:D I'm going to have to make a very tough announcement later today that I am leaving by a certain date, they will need to replace me and... well, that's it.

Hugs, spoons and sticks by the back door as usual.
Along with a large bin for snotty tissues:rotfl:
