Economy 7 and My Bills

Hi,
I have question regarding Economy 7 meter reading and billing.
I am currently with Scottish Power and switched from EDF.
Last week I received bill for more than £660, which is around £125 p/m. I live in 2 bed room flat powered by electricity only.
They give me following reading:
Read 1 034289 Night Read
Read 2 054674 Day Read
I have digital meter and were Rate 1 is Reading 2 and Rate 2 is Reading 1.
During day time Reading 2 changes.
Is this correct and am i on correct tariff?
I have seen many stories of people geting their rate mixed up.
Regards,
Mike

Well, your post is a little confusing but if the meter read that counts during day time is being charged at the night rate and the meter read that changes over night is being charged at the day rate then, use, something is wrong.
What are the charges per kWh of rate 1 and rate 2? - the night kWhs should be less expensive than the day ones.
Your meter reads are little use without how many units of each are being used. The proportion of day and night units used are needed to work out if it is worth your while. Do you have storage heaters?0 -
How can a quarterly bill of around 90 days totalling £660 be £125 per month?
Is £285 of your bill a catch-up from a previous estimated bill?
Tell us your actual unit consumption on each rate, meter readings alone mean nothing. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Hi mikelogic
From the information you have posted you say that Reading 2 advances during the day (54674 reading) and that during the day it is reading 2 that advances. I would therefore be satisfied that you are being charged correctly for the day and night consumption.
An all electric property can easily use £125.00 per month over the cold winter months. I would expect your electricity consumption to reduce considerably over the next 6 months.
Have a look at the meter readings that have been used to bill your account and see whether they are estimated or accurate meter readings. If you look at previous statements, it may be that your account has been esimtated and this bill is a catch up bill as we have now obtained an accurate meter reading. If the meter readings are accurate then this is the cost of heating your property over the winter months based on the type of heating you have within the property.
Let me know if you have any further questions regarding this bill and I will be happy to help.
Kind Regards
