  • There is no person, its a hypothetical question that came up in a discussion about how some people can dishonestley manipulate the system.

But, as always, its never as straightforward as what the pub bore thinks.

    Thanks for your answers :)

    ......Sorry........

And he walked out so gave no notice???? He could have worked his notice while off sick as I did (recommended by Occupational Health)

I suppose this could of happened but without knowing full circumstances and length of time with company, just thinking back to me dicing with my health when i ran a pub, i was giving it up anyway due to demolition but god was i stressed/anxious/depressed (gangsters/drugs/robberies) that brought on other ailments at the time like kidney/chest infections which i put down to low immune system due to not sleeping.

Luckily it was getting demolished eh but within 4 weeks i was back on my feet feeling so refreshed it was unbelievable and was back in a changed career within 12 months after plenty of college studying and voluntary work.
Forums can be/are a good guide to entitlement and it is good practice to back it up with clarification from the relevant department/specialist with written confirmation to safeguard yourself.

That was what I was hoping for....some time off and de-stress. Sadly, that isn't how it worked out for me :(

    Well done you :T

I love to hear about people suffering with anxiety and depression making a recovery. It keeps reminding me that I too will recover again. Sooner than later I hope.

I did what you did years ago when I had my last serious bout of depression. I went back to college and re-trained.

    Thanks for sharing that

I think you will 'cause you want to, Good Luck Kid, don't think you need it though, you seem very positive and determined.

    Thanks Allen

Just the whole rigmarole of claiming ESA is as good enough reason as any to recover LOL

I just keep trying to tell myself I did it once before, so I can do it again.
When I said that to the assessor last Monday they told me not to push myself too hard and to take it easy.

Mmmmm, without hope and determination I can't see it getting any better.

But as you will know, it can be more stressful and make you worse if you constantly keep looking for the reasons why and even more so, looking for the answers within yourself.

I find counselling works well for me, as sometimes a few days later I start to get a few answers or some new questions to fire at myself.

I still have to stay on the high dose of AD's for another 12 months before they will even consider reducing the dose. In the meantime I can and am aiming to get myself stable enough to come off ESA and find work that won't interfere with the side effects too much.

    Bedtime for me now :T
