lol... I would love a grey suite over and above the 70's aqua blue/green thing we have..... along with the olive patterned wall tiles. Swap you??
We're just ripping one of those out too! Bright turquoise and massive. We've been here 20 years and have finally got around to replacing it. It was probably here 25 years before us as well.0 -
Depends on the suite and how well it fits with the bathroom - we bought a house with an avocado-ish (it's slightly paler) one in! The bathroom's tiled nicely, and the suite in-situ actually doesn't look bad, it's slightly dated but not screaming "ZOMG 70s DISCO DISCO DISCO" so it's liveable and wasn't a problem.
We were more concerned with a decently tiled bathroom, well-fitted suite, good shower (ours is so awesome I could live in it) than a suite that isn't this year's colour tbh.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
dont think it would put me off depends on the rest of the house tho and if anything else needs done0

Remember if you spend more on a new suite than the increase you make to the value of your property (which is highly likely), then it might not be worth it. On the other hand it might be worth it if you shift the property a little earlier as a result.
Either way this shower curtain will brighten things up:0 -
No. You probably won't get any "extra" premium for it0

No, probably not.
It depends how appealing the rest of the house is and who your target buyers are.
It's doubtful you'll get your money back on it, it's just a case of how much it affects the buying decision as a percentage of the rest of the property. Is this the only bathroom?
If it's a very good house then I think you should leave a little something for buyers to improve themselves. Something they can go shopping for, 'put their own stamp on' and 'add value'. I think that has a strong psychological appeal.0 -
I wouldn't bother... The house I'm buying has a pale grey suite, my other half assumed it was white until I pointed out that it wasn't.0

Having looked around quite a few houses over the past few months, I don't think the bathroom auite would make any difference. We have looked around houses with huge, stunning bathrooms, including noe that had a big whirlpool bath and another with a huge double power shower, but in the end we went for a house with a falling apart salmon pink kitchen that hadn't been touched since 1972. At the end of the day, if you like the layout of the house/rooms and the location, most other things can be changed or updated down the line0

When we sold we took an avocado suite out and put a cheap white one in. The buyers would have been better served if we'd left them the original.0

Another point to consider is although it's possible to take a bath out and then drop a new one in, you might lose a tile or two - or you might have to replace loads. Or you might uncover a whole bag of worms (not literally) under the bath if anything has leaked under etc etc.
Let someone else decide how much money they want to spend on a new bathroom.0
