Bid tv

Has anybody any experience of Bid TV or Price-drop tv? I caught them while flicking a few weeks back and they seem to have some bargains on there. I'd be interested to hear what people's experience of this is, as I'm thinking of buying the set of towels they keep featuring and maybe a few other things. Is the stuff on here decent quality, or is it cheap rubbish? What's customer service like? Do they deliver by courier, or royal mail? Sorry a lot of questions, but I'm always weary of Shopping channels.

  • Yes bought a few things from them I must say towels are very good i am currently feeling one right now and they are soo soft they were a great price too at £26 for 10.

I got the lilac towels but id watch late at night as towels tend to go for about £20 plus pp which is normally £6.99

They deliver by business express a courier yep customer service is okay i think it is in india though but you can go onto saynoto0870 to get cheaper customer services number.

A word of warning though there are ltd crappy stuff on there but you do have a 10 day money back guarantee if you dont like it.

    Hope this helps.

    thanks

have no fear go ahead and do it!!
  • ive bought from price-drop and bid tv many times and have always been satsisfied with my purchases, grant it they do sell some tat on there but there is some really good quality items that go really cheap!

Ive has pierre cardin 10 pack of boxers for £19, the towels in white for £23 a proffessional knife set for £11 amongst other things

my favourite bargain though was through there website, which in my opinion you should check out because there web exclusive lots tend to go alot lower than on tv! i got a pack of 2 republic mens tops for just £3, these are £30 in the republic shop because i bought one at that price in a 2 for £50 offer they had on! i was really pleased!

Only downside is the delivery charge, slightly steep but if you get a bargain dont tend to worry about it, but definatley check out the web exclusives aswell alot cheaper than tv in most cases!
Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!

The towels are fantastic - as good as if not better then christies,

Pick your time to bid on them - school run time is good and you should get then around the £20 mark. Just bid the once at the price you are prepared to pay as calls are expensive -£1 I think- and if you dont get them dont worry cos they will be back an hour or two later :)

Another tip is to make sure you know what the guide price really is. The cameras they sell on there go quite high yet they are cheapos and the software bundles are usually shareware

Yep I have bought, sorry "bid" for few items myself. Got two sets of towels, wife bid for the same set as me, not knowing... yes we got both of them, but as already been said they are not bad quality. In fact we are saving half of each set for the kids take to uni soon.

Brabantia S/S saucepans.... ok sort of.

Amadeus watch for me, I really like it have it on now 40quid, 2 Amadeus watches for the kids, (late teens) they wear them all the time and love them, 30 quid each.

Bathroom scales, glass ones. 24 quid again they are fine.

Not had anything not turn up, always delivered when suppose to and the watches had a free strap altering service, all three had be altered.

Like in eveything you will find people who have had bad experiences, but as has been previously said, they do sell some rubbish so pick carefully what you want to buy and if necessary look on the net for the real price, then take it from there.

Best advice I can give is to set your limit on any item and do not go over, it so easy to get carried away, it WILL be back for sale later just be patient.
What goes around - comes around
give lots and you will always recieve lots

Have you included the call costs to the prices of the thing you've bought?

I thought that was the catch with these guys?

I think one can bid online though?

If you bid online its free. Phone calls are £1. This is why you need to do your homework before you bid, decide on the price you are prepared to pay and bit the once.

The other tip is to bid when its a huge lot - more likey to get it first time round. For example they often do the towels in lots of 200 and other times only in lots of 40-make your bid when theres 200 up for grabs. Same with the watches, they usually let them out in small lots to keep the prices up, but they have thousands of them so wait till the watch you want comes up at a quiet time
