Argh, do not get me started with Virgin media! I HATE them, they always mis-sell things to you! They're liars and are really hard to cancel.
We were told we were getting a HD virgin box with the pause and play button, and this is what we paid. Then when it got here, we had a basic one, we phoned up and found that the price we were given was for a basic one AND we actually had an increase on what we were told, we had to pay an extra £5 per month. None of this we were told.
Took us DAYS to cancel, in the end I stuck to my guns and became as rude to them as they were to me about cancelling.
NEVER again!
I hated them when they were NTL, and thought perhaps they had changed.....NOPE.
Did they get you with the hidden courier charges too?
I just got my HD box that's widely publicised all over their website as being available for a £49.95 activation fee, then when it and my updated contract actually arrived I had to phone up to ask why there was a charge of £69.95 instead.
Apparently this was for courier delivery of the box. Fair enough, the courier service incurs a cost but MAYBE TELL YOUR CUSTOMERS ABOUT IT FIRST!
